Pokémon GO Fest Key Art 2019, 2022, 2023
Pokémon GO Fest is a yearly in-person event designed to bring the mobile game experience to life. Three parks around the world are carefully chosen to host the massive weekend event. A special in-game narrative accompanies custom Pokémon habitats filled with sculptures, effects, and sounds. Year after year, thousands of Pokémon fans and causal trainers alike gather to enjoy the real-world experience. Below you will see my work on Pokémon GO Fest 2019, Pokémon GO Fest 2022, and Pokémon GO Fest 2023.
Pokémon GO Fest 2019
This was the game's first worldwide event - hosted in Chicago, USA, Dortmund, DE, and Yokohama, JP. To celebrate this, I designed a triptych. Each location had its own unqiue Key Art highlighting the chosen location's landmarks and featured Pokémon, and after every location was publically announced, we showcased the full image as one piece in a panaorama on Instagram. This was a fun easter egg for our Trainers and a notable way to commemorate the first worldwide GO Fest.

Shaymin was the hero Pokemon for GO Fest 2022.
I made sure to carry the Pokémon's story through each location's key art with Shaymin flying through the sky, dropping petals across the scene.

Pokémon GO Fest 2023
The hero Pokemon of GO Fest 2023 was Diancie.
I followed the Pokémon's lore and surrounded them with gems in a dark, mysterious cave. I also worked on London's key art, incorporating iconic elements of the location and the event's specific Pokémon. There was also a fun detail carried throughout each region's key art - a marker showing the exact location of the chosen park on a map on the phone screen.
